Selected Canvas Project: Large-Scale Body Flow

The Selected Canvas Project began in Melbourne as an exploration of large-scale abstract tattoo design and body flow. I wanted to develop individual compositions shaped by a person’s body, structure and story.

The original call included the back, arm and leg, alongside larger body concepts. Each direction gave me a different way to work with movement and the relationship between connected areas.

The project is about developing a one-of-one artwork around the person. Placement is part of the idea from the beginning, rather than something decided after the composition is finished.

The project gave me space to explore how an abstract composition could become part of a larger area of the body. That relationship between the person, the form and the artwork remains the central idea.
